I am a junior at the University of Nebraska at Kearney studying to be a Language Arts teacher for grades 7-12. I love all things F. Scott Fitzgerald (don’t get me started on The Great Gatsby), and I adore my Savior and all things Catholic.
During the summer of 2016, I had the opportunity to serve as a teacher for the Totus Tuus catechetical program in the Archdiocese of Omaha. The lovely people I spent the summer with are featured on the home page; I am the ginger. Teaching Totus Tuus was hands down the best two and a half months of my life. I truly cannot go more than 24 hours without talking about someone I met or something I learned during that short time. (I am prone to exaggeration but this is not one of those times.) That summer was a flood of graces that I am still unpacking. Graces that I want to share with you through this blog.
It is not easy to follow Christ and fall in love with Him in our world and at our age. Every day, we have to wake up and remind ourselves of the battle that we can win, the battle for a life in love with Christ. We must imitate Mary every day and say to Christ, “totus tuus” – “I am totally yours.”
St. Pope John Paul II, pray for us!
